Ice Cream Gift Idea #7

Oh Violet has to have one of these! How fun is Etsy just to surf around and see the amazing creations people are making. This shirt is so precious and perfect for the little girly girl on your list. Chic Baby Rose out of California is designing these super cute ice cream long sleeved T's and the fun part is that you can customize the flavor by choosing what color tulle to top the cone off with. Love it!!! And if anything just go check out the other goods she makes. The hats, tutus, and dresses are so amazingly cute and just fun to look at!

Ice Cream Finds on Etsy

Every once in awhile I like to poke around on Etsy and am so amazed by all the incredible talent out there. So in honor of all the great designers making incredible art I wanted to highlight some fun ice cream items I found while trampsing around on this great site.

Pickles & Ice Cream anyone....lip gloss that is!

Now officially into my third trimester (yes baby on the way and believe it or not I had an aversion to ice cream in my first trimester..thankfully that ended!) I not too long ago received a sweet surprise in the mail from my favorite coblogger, Bethany. It was these wonderful lip glosses she found on another one of our favorite sites, Etsy, and the flavor of the gloss was so appropriate for an ice cream loving mom to be....."Pickles & Ice Cream"!

I know, sounds gross for lip gloss and I can't say I've actually had pickles and ice cream yet during this pregnancy but if I did I hope it tastes as yummy as this lip gloss does. It's super soft and sweet just like I like my ice cream and it is from her so fun "Gift in my Belly" gloss collection...I love it!! Check em out....Ella Dean's lip glosses are super fun and are made from scratch with all natural vegan friendly ingredients and have the best creamy texture. Oh and fabulous illustrations and quirky stories to go along with each flavor. I love how creative these are and there is a gloss for every occasion...after a long New England winter and 7 months of no cocktails I think I need to get myself the "Summer's Pina Colada at the Beach"....ahhhhhhh can't wait!

Pamper Yourself with Ice Cream Treats Under $6.00

Holidays stressing you out? I found some sweet treats on Etsy to calm for this holiday season. It might be a little late to order as a holiday gift (but contact the sellers to be sure) but are a perfect new year treat!

Since we are all busy, I am keeping the list short, but as always, sweet.

I was first inspired to write this post when I saw a listing for CrazyKBathandBody's Waffle Bowl Ice Cream Goats Milk Soap, but just visiting her site for the link, I also see she makes an Ice Cream Sandwich soap and some super cute Hostess Cupcake looking soaps (which is so real looking it seems that the seller's mom almost ate it!) Funny, I said these would be great pampering products, but I don't know if I could actually use these beauties, as they are so sculptural. At under six dollars and over three hundred scents to choose from, these soaps are a steal!

Next up we have something perhaps only a pregnant lady could love -- but boy would she love it! Elladean sells, get this, Pickles and Ice Cream Vegan Soothing Lip Conditioner for Moms to Be. I don't know if I could actually buy and wear this (but then again, I am not pregnant) but I am so amused by her darling illustrations and illustrative photos and the quirky text on the packaging (visit the listing to see that!) that it seems worth the $3.25 to try it out...Has anyone ever tried pickles and ice cream? Or pickle ice cream? Please do write us and tell us your opinions.

And last but not least, we have perfect Ice Cream Cone Handmade Soap by SoapStore. SoapStore's shop is totally worth checking out, as her food soaps are so realistic looking. At $4.50, these are so on the list of prizes for next year's ice cream party -- my only trouble? -- picking among the many colors and flavors! My one sweet wish -- not SoapStore's fault -- is that shipping didn't have to be so high.

Have a clean and sweet holiday!

Sweet Notes and a Contest with Sweet Rewards

Last fall I wanted to write some notes on ice cream note cards, and I had a heck of a time finding anything I was really excited about. Since then I am constantly on the look out for nice ice cream stationery to say "Thank you for the nice ice cream scoop" or "So glad you came over to chat over ice cream." Cupcake cards, as beautiful as they are, are popping up all over the place, but, my frozen treat friends, ice cream cards aren't so easy to come by.

I found a few cute cards on Etsy as well as some more commercial products, but the pickin's, though wonderful, are slim.

It was these cards on the right by Chronicle Books that I ended up using last fall in my search for ice cream notes. This box of twenty note cards (five designs repeating four times each) features ice cream signs along the highway taken by San Francisco based photographer Troy M. Litten. These cards remind me of summertime drives, pulling off the highway for a spontaneous ice cream treat.

As a lover of stickers and ice cream (I know, what am I, six?) I was thrilled to find the cards at left by Potter Style, an imprint of Random House. The blank ice cream cards work wonderfully on their own, but you can add some flare by sticking strawberries, whipped cream, chocolate chips and things of the sort all over the cards. Luckily, they don't have sprinkle stickers, so you don't have to stick teeny sprinkles one by one! [I also found these on buy.com, amazon.com, and many other places after doing a google search on "ice cream note cards".]

Seasoned Etsy member Marilyn Patrizio has some super fun ice cream cone notes in her Etsy shop. What could be more fun than a smiling ice cream cone? You can buy them singly or as part of an assorted set, or if you just want to stare at those little faces all the time and not send them away, you can also buy the cones on the cover of a notebook.

Canadian artist Rachael Herbert of Rubyfaz on Etsy also puts a smile on our faces with her smiling ice cream cones. Whether you want to write someone a short short note, or add an adorable gift tag to a package, Rachael's mini cards are just the answer. Rachael's website is also beautifully designed and features some great work, and her blog is super fun as well. I was just so enamored with today's posting of Flossie.
