Seattle! Boston! New York! Portland (OR)! B&J Truck Tour!

Sometimes our posts are area specific. (Sorry those of you who don't live in the cities listed in the post title...) And sometimes they are a bit late. (Sorry L.A., D.C., Miami, and San Fran...) We are truly sorry about leaving people out at times, but feel free to let us know of something local to you that you may want us to post about!

Anyway, Boston, Seattle, New York, and Portland...there's still time for you ask Ben & Jerry's to stop by your neighborhood so you can get some FREE Greek Frozen Yogurt! It's all about social media these days. Tweet away! Terrence (below) explains how it works in New York City, but it seems to be pretty much the same for Boston, Seattle, and Portland, too.

East Coast, (that's you, New York and Boston) tweet Ben & Jerry's at @BenJerrysEast...

West Coast, (hey...Seattle and Portland, listen up!) tweet Ben & Jerry's at @BenJerrysWest.

For further info, visit the 2012 Truck Tour page.

Boston's Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl is 1 week away...yippee

The event of all ice cream events is only 1 week away. Boston will hold its annual Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl, the all-you-can-eat ice cream (yogurt, gelato and sorbet too!) extravaganza on Boston's City Hall Plaza. Seriously we start planning for this months in advance and gather up all friends to join us for an ice cream lunch. I am totally bummed this year because I am traveling 2 of the 3 days the event is being held so I guess I'll just have to make my one day worthwhile.

#OMGFreeBenJerrys hits Beantown on July 28th

The countdown is on until the Ben & Jerry's scoop truck hits the Boston streets for 4 weeks handing out as many free samples as possible. This is so fun.....it all starts on July 28th and you can even influence where the truck heads.  Just go on their Facebook page or follow them on Twitter and tell them where you want it to go and maybe, just maybe, you might get lucky. Seriously I am going to go on every day and tell them to come to my work. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  • Mike Vos (Buckley, WA) - Finding secret notes from his daughter...

Free Ice Cream on July 30 at the Mark Twain House in Hartford

Good news for those Connecticutians who used to enjoy Mark Twain Days in Hartford. Though there won't be a frog jumping contest or fencing expos, there will be some frozen treats at the historic home.

To celebrate the brand new 1890's ice box in the Mark Twain House, the landmark will be having an ice cream social from 4-7 PM on July 30. And the ice cream will be donated by the the UConn Dairy Bar. What could be finer?

Lemonade, music, games, and more round out the evening...and be sure to visit the Harriet Beecher Stowe House next door!

So tomorrow, join Tom Sawyer and Uncle Tom for some ice cream!

Thanks to Korky Vann of the Hartford Courant Blog for the tip.

Celebrate 75 Years of Carvel with a Free Iceberg!

It's that free ice cream time of year. All the shops seem to want to get on board.

Join Fudgie the Whale in celebrating 75 years of Carvel by going to your nearest Carvel shop on Thursday, April 30th from 3-7 pm for a free Iceberg!

What is an Iceberg? I didn't know either. An Iceberg (in the Carvel sense of the word) is soda with ice and vanilla flavoring blended together, then topped with a scoop of ice cream. Sounds good!

Happy birthday to Carvel! Thanks for years of fabulous birthday parties with ice cream cake!

Oh, as an added silly note, check out the Carvel Management page. Scrolll down to learn more about Cookiepuss and Fudgie the Whale!

Seattle's Molly Moon's Opens a Second Location

Celebrate the grand opening of Molly Moon's second shop located on Capitol Hill this Saturday, April 25th from 3-5 pm with a free cone for the kiddies!

Also to be revealed that day are four new flavors...Ginger, Salted Black Licorice, Baby Beet Sorbet and Pomegranate Curry Sorbet. Though the first two are flavors I don't care for, I have to say I absolutely love beets, so if I were in the area, I'd for sure try that one.

Not being from Seattle, I have never tried Molly Moon's, but their artisanal ice creams sound pretty good, so when I finally get around to visiting CakeSpy, we'll have to go. Their list of interesting flavors is endless...from those listed above to salted caramel and maple bacon. I've made maple bacon ice cream before and I highly suggest it!

P.S. Love the logo!

Late Breaking Pajama News!

I just got a heads up from my friend Marsha about PJ Weekend at Bruster's ice cream. Wear your PJs in today (if they are still open!) and get a free single scoop waffle cone!

The site is vague and doesn't even mention which weekend it is (but searching on the web turned up today) -- but it does say weekend, so maybe tomorrow too?

We don't have Bruster's in Massachusetts or Rhode Island, so I can't even confirm for you.

If anyone does go and turns up with any more info or feedback, please do let us know. I'm signed up for their newsletter now, so hopefully I won't miss this next year!

Signing off so this can be posted and maybe, just maybe, you can get your free cone.

We need your scoop on these scoops!

Here's the thing: I have three coupons for free Good Humor, Breyers, Klondike, or Popsicle products...they expire at the end of March and I need your help!

Be one of the first to volunteer in the comments section (be sure to include your email address so I can contact you for your mailing address) and I'll send you a coupon.

Your end of the deal? Review your product. Send me a quick email about your feedback on what you chose and how you liked it. Send a picture of you or your friends and family enjoying the treats if you want! We'll post your review and picture for the world to see!

Thanks much!

Tomorrow, November 24, 6-9 PM -- Free Cold Stone Ice Cream Cake and Pie Tasting

Cold Stone has certainly been all over our blog in the past couple of days, with contests to win and cakes to taste.

Visit your local participating Cold Stone Creamery from 6-9 tomorrow (Monday) for a tasting of their cakes and pies. While you are there, pick up a cake for Thanksgiving, and enter to win!

Note: I got this in my email because I am on the Cold Stone Creamery mailing list. I am not sure if this is only in Massachusetts and New Hampshire or all over, because I can't find the event on their site. You might want to call ahead to confirm whether this event is happening in your area.
